Like a Greyhound at the starting block...

or a snail. Either way, this momma is ITCHIN' to run! I know that my body is no where near ready, but my mind is RARIN' to go.
My body is feeling even better today. Back feels pretty much back to normal and my upstairs-downstairs walking is 90% back to normal! No more strategizing the stairs. Awesome.

My right hip flexor still feels tight and a wee bit sore, but I can now pick up my leg to put my shoes and socks on without the help of my arms!  SCORE!
My calves, shins and right ankle are still a bit sore but nothing bad at all. My feet are a bit tender as well but wearing shoes today has helped that

BUT if you look closely....yep, still have on my red fuzzy socks.   Comfy.

I did an elliptical workout today, kept the pace easy, but not recovery. Worked up the tiniest glisten of sweat.  Yay.
Elliptical 20 minutes, 4.2 miles.  Watching the Honey Boo Boo episode of Toddlers and Tiaras made the time FLY by.

I didn't do much in the way of my eating today. Still tried to keep the calories on the lighter side. I was amazed to see that I was only down 1/2# on Monday morning after running TWENTY SIX miles on Sunday! I didn't go nuts with the food at ALL on Sunday so that surprised me.
Then yesterday I kept the calories low-ish and I was up a full pound this morning! WHAT GIVES!
I did remember later that I had a small hamburger patty at dinner with a 1/2 c of baked beans and a little quinoa and for some reason, whenever I eat red meat at night, I always weigh a little more in the morning, so we'll see what tomorrow morning on the scale brings us....

Do you weigh yourself daily?
What is your favorite piece of exercise machinery?

  1. I definitely do not weight myself daily. My weight fluctuates so much due to water retention, sleeping habits, carb consumption, etc - I don't want it to upset me! I try to weight myself Friday mornings and avoid the scale for the remainder of the week :)

    1. I think water retention affects me a lot too, especially with how much I love salty foods!

  2. I wouldn't worry about the weight, Anna. You're tiny :) It's great to hear your body is recovering so quickly!

I weigh myself daily.. unless I've eaten a ton the day before. Then I don't bother as I know I'll be mad at myself.

Favorite piece of exercise machinery is probably the rowing machine. It's an awesome workout!

    1. I STILL weigh myself, even if I've eaten 4,000 cal the day before as I'm curious what it is and to see how quickly I can get it back down. I've never tried a rowing machine! Sounds fun!

  3. I weigh daily- somehow it just keeps me on track. Do you know, I gained 8 lbs during my marathon training, and didn't even lose an ounce after my marathon? My body is just crazy like that! Ugh. I have 2 fave pieces of equipment, the treadmill and spin bike. I really do love the treadmill!

    1. I've heard from a lot of people that they gain 5-10#! I was SUPER surprised that I didn't lose any weight afterwards! Not fair!! =) I've never been on a spin bike. I'd like to try it sometime!

  4. i used to weigh myself every day, first thing in the morning. but these days, with a little one, i tend to get caught up in doing tons of other things....

i really like to do it cause when i do i can see the ups and downs and not freak out too much over a bad day. but now, when i only weigh myself sporadically it's so much easier to freak out over the numbers :)

    1. I hear ya. I think if I only weighed myself once a week or once a month, it would be worse for me mentally =)
